"A book is a garden, an orchard, a storehouse, a party, a company by the way, a counselor, a multitude of counselors."

– Charles Baudelaire

THE MOMENT OF THE BANYAN is the story of a multi-generational family: their lives, loves, hates, betrayals, trials, and triumphs – glimpses into the Parsee / Irani Zoroastrian way of life in the villages, towns, the then Bombay, the diaspora abroad – insights into the Zoroastrian culture, rituals, reet-rivaaj, the cuisine, the colourful language. A human story, which could be the story of any family – weaving into the fictional narrative the special stories of this minuscule community, which have been crying out to be documented and preserved, and now are!
A repository for generations to come – for posterity!
Written by an author acclaimed for  her use of language, with what has been described as `Arminesque’ humour bubbling throughout the Novel.
