A collection of quotations and sacred poems, Ocean in a Drop, was first sourced as a companion to the book, Rama, the Human Expression of the Divine. But so universal and wise were these words, that they merited a separate space altogether. They speak from the soul of each poet and express sometimes a yearning; at other times, a penetrative understanding and at yet others, the unalloyed bliss of realization. They reveal the thoughts of noble and highly evolved minds on subjects ranging all the way from one’s relationship with God to man’s unending appetite. They express in succinct and simple words the truth of life, as seen from the vantage of spiritual heights. Most of these verses have come down to us from a wide variety of sources, both written and oral. Many of them have been translated from their original language into English. At all times, we have striven to maintain the haunting music and the limpid fluidity of the source. Each page is a thought; each thought, a meditation. Read it through, or stay with one, these treasures from our tradition will only enrich you.
